Apple and Plum Crumble
I want to make this again as soon as possible, it was delicious . The plums go so well with the apple. Spoil yourself and or your guests and serve it with homemade custard / creme anglaise
Granny Smith Apples - 8 peeled, cored and chopped
Brambly Apples - 4 large peeled, cored and chopped
Plums - 8 cut into wedges, stone removed
Flour - 250g
Butter - 100g
Caster Sugar - 200g half for apples and half for crumble
Place all the chopped fruit in a pot or the pan you'll cook it in, if like mine it's oven proof. Cook it until the apples are soft then add a big lump of butter, I used 25g unsalted.
Stir well and add the sugar little by little, the amount you use depends on your taste so taste until it is right for you about 100g should do
Mix 250g flour with 100g butter and 100g caster sugar. Rub it between your fingers until you have a crumbly mix.
Pour this over the top of the apple and Plum mix and smooth out till it covers the top. Bake for 30 minutes 180°c.
It's a good idea to place a large roasting tin under to catch drips and save your oven.
