Creme Anglaise / Custard
If you like custard them you will love this homemade version. It is called Creme Anglaise and is simply out of this world when served with a nice apple pie or crumble
Allergens : Contains Lactose, Gluten Free
Egg Yolks – 4
Caster Sugar – 75g
Cream – 250ml
Vanilla Pod – Stripped of seeds
Vanilla Essence – 1/2 tsp
Heat the cream in a pot with the vanilla.
Meanwhile whisk the eggs and sugar together in a separate bowl until they are smooth.
When the cream is close to boiling pour a ladel of it into the bowl with the egg and sugar and mix well.
Pour this into the pot with the cream and whisk really well while heating. It’s ready when it starts to coat the back of a spoon. I like mine a little thicker so cook it a little longer to get it how I like it then remove it from the heat immediately.
Don’t over cook it or you will end up with scrambled eggs.
